ATS lets applicants jump into their new job from 60 meters up

7 October 2024 - On Sunday, October 6, the job event ‘Technical Village’ took place, organized by Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS). This unique event offered technical talents the opportunity to explore the dynamic world of the Antwerp port, discover exciting job openings at ATS, and even experience a breathtaking sky jump from a height of 60 meters.

The event was inaugurated by future port captain Johan Klaps. Candidates had the chance to tackle various technical challenges, enjoy an exclusive tour of the terminal, and take the thrilling sky jump, which provided a spectacular view over MPET, the largest container terminal in Europe, and the entire port of Antwerp.

“With many exciting vacancies available, this event was an original way to attract interesting profiles,” said Johan Vandewalle, General Manager of ATS. “Applicants not only got to know our dynamic company but were also immersed in the wonderful world of the port. It was a unique day for applicants and our current technicians to experience the atmosphere of an international team that processes 75% of the containers in the Antwerp port daily.”

Future port captain Johan Klaps added, “Our port faces many challenges, including filling open vacancies. We need the talent of today and tomorrow. To everyone concerned about the future: come work in our port! Together, we will shape that future. Initiatives like ‘Technical Village’ are highly welcome. As I am about to start a career in the port myself, I look forward to fully immersing myself in this fascinating world.”

ATS, MPET, and PSA Antwerp have previously organized remarkable recruitment campaigns. In 2021, ‘Dinner in the Sky’ took place, where interviews were held on a large platform in the air. In 2018, ‘Fly to Your Future’ was organized, offering candidates helicopter rides to their interviews.

ATS is a joint venture between PSA Antwerp and MPET. ATS provides technical services, as well as services in HSS, Dispatch, Safety, Security, and barge planning.
