Mobile check-In for truck drivers at Noordzee Terminal
30 august 2024 - Since August 20, 2024 truck drivers at the PSA Noordzee Terminal (Q913) will be able to complete their administrative check-in, also known as the A-check, directly from their trucks using the OptiTruck mobile application.
"Our employees' and visitors' safety is, and will always be, our top priority," said Jurgen De Wachter, General Manager of PSA Antwerp's container business. "The introduction of the digital A-check via OptiTruck is a significant step in our ongoing efforts to enhance safety at our terminals. Additionally, it once again demonstrates our commitment to digitalisation."
Straightforward procedure
The OptiTruck app, launched by PSA Antwerp and MPET in June 2022, was developed to optimize and simplify truck drivers' experiences during their terminal visits. The app already offers various functionalities, such as checking TAR codes, receiving parking instructions, and accessing real-time information about terminal processes.
With the latest update to the OptiTruck app, drivers can now complete the entire A-check process digitally. The procedure is straightforward: after parking at the administration building, drivers initiate the A-check via the ‘Start Check-in’ option in the app. Once the check-in is successful, they can proceed directly to the Gate. This streamlined A-check process reduces overall wait times and promotes smoother truck flow.
PSA Antwerp's ongoing commitment to digitalisation
The integration of the A-check into the OptiTruck app underscores PSA Antwerp's ongoing commitment to digitalisation."Digitalisation is the driving force influencing every aspect of our daily lives," said De Wachter. "Through our efforts, we aim to offer more efficient and straightforward services while reducing complexity and enhancing safety."
The OptiTruck app is easy to download and needs to be activated only once via the self-service desk (SSD) in the administration building. Drivers who have previously activated the app do not need to do so again; they can use the new functionality without any issues.
