CSR

28 December 2018 | In the beginning of December, staff from PSA Zeebrugge flew out to 'De Kleine Dennen' in Knokke. Kleine Dennen is an initiative of non-profit association De Patio, which offers accommodation, live-on-you-own training* and context guidance to youngsters living in precarious conditions. The living area of the youngsters was completely repainted and revamped with brand new furniture.

'De Patio' is an umbrella organization of 10 small-scale initiatives within the special youth assistance in the North-West Flanders region. One of these is 'Kleine Dennen', where 18 boys and girls are housed from birth until their 18th birthday because of a disturbing home situation.

'Kleine Dennen' has two age groups, in which group the youngsters stay depends on their age and level of development. Each youngster has an individual counselor for personal guidance. In addition, the youngsters also receive group and school counselling. Furthermore, they are supported in their growth towards independence. Each child receives full support, taking into account his/her context in order to achieve maximum development opportunities. Every 6 months the objectives are evaluated.

Social Responsibility
PSA, MPET and ATS have been supporting local communities for years. We do not only wish to perform an economic role in society, but also a social one. Numerous projects and organizations are dear to us. Since a few years, we chose to really make a difference by supporting and helping children and youngsters in precarious conditions.

*Live-on-your-own training is a special form of day and night accommodation. The youngsters stay in their own studio within the the premises, with a kitchenette and private bathroom. All facets of independence are trained: being alone, budgeting, cooking, dealing with leisure time, getting up independently, dealing with administrative matters, etc....
