19 May 2023 | The first phase of the renewal of the Europa Terminal is underway. To keep offering the same level of service during the extensive works and to continue to encourage the modal shift, a new barge quay has been constructed. Operational as of today, it is temporarily creating additional mooring space for inland navigation. The quayside and terminal upgrade, which will take about ten years, will ensure that the latest generation of container ships can continue to call at Antwerp.

12 May 2023 | PSA Belgium recently took part in the sixth edition of the Flemish Port Day, organised by the Flemish government and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. Held on 7 May, the event drew more than 85,000 enthusiastic visitors from all ages, with numerous activities organised for participants in the Flemish ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Ostend and Ghent under a collective theme of “Innovation”. 

As an important gateway for global trade, it was an excellent opportunity for PSA Belgium to showcase our terminals and the various types of jobs and careers available.

26 April 2023 | Today the technical service provider Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS) led an interactive workshop at the MPET container terminal in the port of Antwerp, to show 15 youngsters what it means to work as an engineer or technician in this highly mechanized sector. This  hands-on event is part of the collaborative Repair Teens project that encourages youngsters between the ages of 12 and 14 to study STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects and seek careers in related sectors.

24 April 2023 | On Sunday April 23rd, 135 colleagues from PSA Belgium took part in the 37th edition of the popular annual running event, the Antwerp 10 Miles. 

The Antwerp 10 Miles, which takes the more than 37,000 participants through Antwerp’s beautiful city centre, was a great opportunity for our PSA team to not only break personal records but also Be There and Play with their colleagues. And this year, they got to play in the rain. 

21 April 2023 | Today, we welcomed the largest container ship to date, MSC Tessa, to MPET. True to a longstanding tradition at MSC, the ship was named after a prominent company figure or family member. In this case, containership Tessa was named after the daughter of Nils Kahn, managing director of MSC Germany.  

30 March 2023 | Antwerp Terminal Services (ATS), a joint venture between MSC PSA Europe Terminal (MPET) and PSA Antwerp (PSAA), today officially launched the world’s first H2 dual fuel straddle carrier in the Port of Antwerp during a brief ceremony. Using state-of-the-art H2 dual fuel combustion engine technology, developed by cleantech company CMB.TECH and integrated into a straddle carrier with the support of ATS, the machine runs on a mix of hydrogen and diesel. It can therefore play an important role in reducing terminal greenhouse gas emissions.

23 March 2023 | After an extensive tender process, the contract for the first batch of Emerald quay cranes was signed.

Chinese crane manufacturer ZPMC is in charge of supplying four dual hoist cranes. These cranes are suitable for handling the latest generation of ships. They are doing so in combination with Swedish integrator ABB, which is responsible for the electrical installation and semi-automation.

1 February 2023 | Today, Aprojects, PSA Breakbulk and the Havenbedrijf kicked off a major collaboration at Antwerp's Bosuilstadion. Together we are laying the foundations for a new sustainable logistics platform next to the PSA Breakbulk terminal.

On our concession at Churchilldok, we are building a Project Cargo Ecosystem together. Mainly with a focus on supporting projects for various industrial players, we are committed to large-scale infrastructure adjustments within the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.
